GSC Marketting Ploy Uncovered~!!!
Super-sleuth Raghu da Waghu has today revealed his accusations directed at Malaysia-wide movie moguls Golden Screen Cinemas (formerly fondly known as GSC) about withholding movie releases till such a time that would guarantee maximum returns as a result of ticket sales, and more recently, cancelling the special movie day prices for certain movies.
It is a well-known fact that movie day at The-Cinema-formerly-known-as-GSC is Wednesday, and for that day only, tickets are priced lower than other days. Just look at this month's new releases. Tokyo Drift comes out this Thursday. Scary Movie 4 and Take The Lead comes out next Thursday. The following Thursday, does anything come out? Superman Returns. Thursday, Thursday, Thursday. People gotta wait 6 days to get the movie day discount. Isn't there a story in here somewhere?

kekeke.....this is how they make money la macha
D'oh! I know that.. My point is that they're not just "friendly-bringing-movies-to-cinemas-near-you-oh-and-please-buy-our-overly-sweet-popcorn-and-no-outside-food" people. I'm simply pointing out the fact that it's all business. My lament is that there are no longer patrons of the arts; no body of people who bring culture to us for the unselfish purpose of advancing the height of intellect in the community. Plain and simple, people get into the business just for the money. Are there no more for-the-good-of-the-community people?
hahah, waghu waghhu!!!!
thursdays have been the release dates for cinema's even before GSC came about. they started that with TGV!! after the thursdays's release (I don't know if its US or UK Style) is when they came up with ther super wednesday thingy (6 bucks per ticket or is it 7 now?)
its been going on for years dear, only now you noticed?
Wasn't like that in Aussie.. there wasn't a super wednesdays thingy then... GSC, TGV, [insert-any-other-cineplex-name-here]... my point is that there are no longer any patrons of the arts. Everything is so commercialised nowadays. I long for the hey-days of the earlier part of the 1900s when going to the theater was more than just wham-kaboom-kiss-gimmeyourmoney-eatourpopcorn-wham-kiss-everybodygoeshome.
